The history of G.H.BASS dates back to Maine in 1876 and George Henry Bass - a man on a simple mission to make the very best shoe. In 1936, G.H. BASS put a stylish spin on a Norwegian farm shoe designed for “loafing in the field,” and playfully dubbed them Weejuns – introducing the world’s first penny loafer. From strolling across college campuses to doing the moonwalk, Weejuns have been found on industrious feet ever since.

Important sizing guidance - These loafers fit long and slim, so many people choose to go half a size down. On first wear, the shoe should feel quite snug around the heel and across the width (even a bit uncomfortable). The leather softens significantly with wear and will mould to your foot over time. Trust the process and they’ll become extremely comfortable.

Please note: The toe box will not stretch. If your toes feel cramped, you should size up. Those with wider feet often find it best to ignore the half-size-down advice and stick to their usual size.
