The check pattern is created by sampling antique indigo-dyed fabric, using indigo, yellow, and ecru for the warp threads, and indigo and ecru nep yarn for the weft threads. The style is a work shirt with gussets at the sides and two chest pockets, and uses cat-eye metal buttons with peeling paint on the surface. A union ticket is sewn onto the inside of the placket.
